Comma et al-- Mae govannen! I learned about this site from Comma at the SF-Fandom "Tolkien & the Inklings" forum where I post regularly. I just wanted to wish you all "Quel Marth!" (Good Luck!) and say that I hope that when you are old and going grey (as I am), that you are still (like me!), having as much fun with Tolkien as I did when I was your age. The Elf within will help keep you ever young at heart. Here is a fun site you may all enjoy: www.grey-company.org/Circle/language/phrase.htm#greetings

Woo! Was that someone who wasn't from lhs? OMG! COOL.
Anyway, sorry I have taken so long to post again, thanks Lucia and Lei for saying happy birthday btw! Glad you like the idea of groups, I don't know what we could discuss but our little clique will think of something. We will mention that to you around school if you like and we can do it after half term??? That alright? Or do you not want to be seen talking to a crazy bunch of upper fifths, I would understand, we are notorious at lhs for being really really weird (can't think why...).
Umm, what else was there...Oh yes, Sheffield is great, we didn't see Seen Been, unfortunatly, but we did go on a LotR tram to Meadowhall, the huge shopping centre which we renamed Meduseld. We hope to go to Oxford next weed for a half term party...thing, that's Tolkien's birth place did you know (I'm sure you did). By the way, we really did sit in the train wearing Lord of the Rings t shirts and kimonos, no really we did. And we put up a sign in the window which read - Have you been to Sheffield and seen Sean Bean?? - can't think still why people think we are strange.
Before I go can I just say to Lucia thanks for the talk last week, I know it's a bit late, that was the first serious thing we have done.
Can I also say that I think Lei's case for marrying Leggie was a great one, why wasn't she in the 2nd round. I think she was the only one who had actually prepared! I think you should have at least got into the 2nd round (even if you would have been against me)
Ok, must dash, see everyone around school bibi.

nooooo, we have named you the U5 elves, so don't worry, we don't think you're at all strange. (do we, Lei...do we?)
There are LOTR kimonos?? I have been looking for those shirts for ages and we were contemplating ordering some spoof ones of the net, but didn't really see a good one.
What exactly did you do in Sheffield? Go on the LOTR tram and try to find Sean Bean?
Anyway, let us know what you want to talk about/ when etc (as long as you don't mind being seen talking to 2 hyper 6th formers...). Anyway, I'm certainly looking forward to it, you all sound very insightful...! ;D

Hey this is Lora and Tinor posting TOGETHER (but not like that) we have a little story to tell Lucia and Lei....
Lol if you didn't think us weird before...you will after this.
Well it all started on own clothes day (the day we were all LotR people) when you said at that quiz that Laura looked like Figwit. We were so surprised (Charlie and RNY 2) that someone else had heard of him it was the highlight of our lives lol (our very very very sad ones). So as you do when something like that happened we started calling Lei Figwit.
Then we realised that Lucia liked LotR 2 so she was going to become Figpeep, but we got confused and somehow and Lei became Figpeep and Lucia Figwit Girl. So...we sorta gave names....yeah
So like we would walk along and see you and go "there's Figwit girl!" cos we idolise you guys lol. As we said, we are sad...and weird.
It was also a handy way to point out when a cool lotr person was coming rather than shouting OOH LOOK ITS LEI! Cos that would have just freaked you out lol.
So you can imagine how excited we were about the club, I don't think I stopped bouncing around the classroom for like, hmm, 2 hours Charlie?? Plus I choked myself once going eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
That will be why you can hear me shouting "hit that d**n bull with Figwit's poster" on the little video thing we made in Sheffield on my camera.
Lol if you don't want to talk to us any more we would understand...*sniff* we can't help being weird.
(PS if we call you that accidently in the future we are sorry, its become habit, do you mind if we call you that at LotR Club??)

OMG, as Sam would say, that's an eye-opener. We idolised you guys from the own-clothes day too. Laura was forever Figwit. (I was also excited that anyone else even knew who Figwit was...) Lufa's right, we do call you the "Upper five Elves" - still. Whereas we obsessed over LotR in our lazy-apathetic-sitting-down sort of way, you guys actually went out and got costumes and made lembas and went to Sheffield and got the T-shirts and got sponsored for PotC and went to Oxford... Meanwhile, I have found an amazing piece of stuff that I'm going to wear as Arwen for next own clothes day ;D If you think of something to talk about, I'll book you in for the second Tuesday after half term. If you really want to do something but don't know what, we can sit down and talk about it and we'll think of something cool. Thanks, Tinor, I thought I deserved to go through too But hey, Boromir was genius. Congrats! Oh, and on the subject of T-shirts (though not really), the ones Lucia and I were going to get were the Very Secret Diary ones by CafePress. Very cool. But overseas tax is too much for us

ahhh...so there is the tale of the coming of Figwit and Figpeep. It's quite exciting to realise that there are some out there who are even more obsessed than us. and actively, as Lei said, obsessed too! Very admirable. ;D But, yeah, we were on a continuous high when we saw that others were *dressing up* nd we kinda still are on the continous high...yay! Call us that at the TS, it would make our day! (no...we're not sad at alllll....) Stone sheep? can't wait to see this video....

Oh, just something I forgot to say before: You guys may scream "OOOH LOOK IT'S LEI!" at the top of your voices when you see us. But at least you don't do it to the wrong people...

Phew! We were really worried you would think us weird, we have idolised you both since like forever, like when you play LotR and PotC in assembly!!! That was soooo cool Lora and I couldn't believe it and were hyper for AGES afterwards. We'll call you Figwit/peep from now on if you don't mind, unless like in the company of other non-lotr people, we don't want to make you embarrassed. It was really hard at first to call you by your real names cos we had called you Figwit and Peep for so long! Glad you liked our costumes, most other people just think we are weird now, not that we mind, we can’t help it...the poor lowly fools who prefer Potter to LotR! The only reason we are active LotR and you are not is cos we don't mind humiliating outselves, you are a little more...mature lol. But it's so cool, do dress as Arwen on own clothes day, it was almost a year since we did it, we could do it for charity again cos I did it for red nose day and raised £40. If you do be Arwen I would offer to bring in Hadhafang but I don't want you to be arrested, perhaps I could bring it in and you can pose...that would be so cool, you dressed as Arwen WITH THE SWORD, how cool. We are very glad you admire us for out LotR obsession, we admire all LotR obsessed people, at least there are others out there like us. Most other people just run away when they see us now, we are notorious for being a little...obsessive. If you still want LotR t-shirts, last year we bought ours really cheap at Virgin and RNY actually made hers with an iron on she had printed of her computer (I'm sure if you asked her nicely and supplied a plain tee shirt she could make you one lol). The ones Lora and I have were about £2 in a sale @ Virgin Megastores so if you keep your eyes peeled the TTT ones should be really cheap soon! What did you want me to do with the videos of you guys and in Sheffield (trams, stone sheep etc)? Shall I send them to you in e-mails?? Assuming you want them of course lol! We also are not really sure about our talk yet but we have three weeks to plan what we are going to talk about. We'll get back to you after half term or even on here during. Lora and I also have a little confession to make. Well, we took Bilbo le Hobbit out of the school library last year and inside there was a bookmark with goldfish on adressed to Lei. We had like a major excitment attack it was so cool. With every intention of giving it back (see what I did there, PotC quote) we kept it, but we like didn't want to give it to you for fear of like, scaring you (HEYY LEEII, it's your boooookmark). Then we came to LotR society and we know you a bit better now, we have rediscovered the bookmark from the recesses of Lora's locker and were wondering, would you like it back Lei? Lol, that is the last weird confession we have to make, we really did want to give it back but you know, you are 6th formers and its slightly daunting talking to you as we didn't know if you were like going to react like all 'you are not wirth speaking to, get out of my sight' sort of thing (don't be ofended, we weren;t sure what you 2 were like lol), 6th formers seem so much older than us you see lol. Darn, I seem to be digging myself futher and further into a very deep dark hole. Lei, would you like us to bring in your bookmark lol, we don't know if it has deep sentimental meanings or anything! Oh btw you asked before about LotR kimonos, they weren't LotR, just...kimonos...yeah we sat on a train wearing them and even went to the buffet cabin with them on lol! When we go to Sheffield we don't really do anything...it's just somewhere differnt, you can see the sort of things we get up to from the little vids we make. Last time for example we went to Pizza Hut and I'm sure freaked everyone out. We sat in the window seat and made up a new dance to the music playing, a tramp ever stopped out side the window, doffed his hat and did a little jig! I agree with Lei - All applaud RNY for winning Legolas (I don't know what she'd want with him but meh, each to their own), I though Depp was who you wanted RN(PS. you're not getting him, HE'S MINE)! May the force of fish be with you! ( ) If you would like to see your namesake Figpeep (start as you mean to go on) go to here >>> figpeep.figwitlives.net/ yes you are indeed named after yellow marshmellow rabbit dressed as Frodo OOH I also have to say about an inconsistancy in one of my posts, ahve just realised I put Oxford was Tolkien's BIRTHplace, it wasn't I corrected it then went back and for some reason wrote it wrong again. He was Born in South Africa but lived in Oxford and worked at the Uni after WW1.

Wicked post. This had me laughing and my dad getting so desperate to use the computer that my mum had to drug him. So yeah, I don't have much time to reply. Phew! We were really worried you would think us weird, we have idolised you both since like forever, like when you play LotR and PotC in assembly!!! That was soooo cool Lora and I couldn't believe it and were hyper for AGES afterwards. Ahh, I didn't think anyone would notice. I played a bit of it to Miss Goodwin and she made me play some in the assembly... I'm hoping to finish writing the whole thing soon, and you'll hear it in full one of these Fridays. That sounds excellent, but you'll probably get into trouble if you bring it in again. I can do with a cardboard cutout ;D Yes, and so I hear But isn't it strange how we put up the posters for the Tolkien Society, and didn't put any names on, and everyone in the sixth form immediately knew it was Lucia and I? And how did you guys know too? Perhaps this is something we could look into, Lufa? Ooohh, I'm so excited. Perhaps I'll go into Leicester tomorrow after all.

Meep! 13 posts I have to post another immediatley it's Friday the 13th as well!
We sure did notice you playing PotC, we bougth the Cd after the film came out and know the soundtrack (like with the LotR's) off by heart. Hehehe, if you do play it in assembly though we may spontaneously combust through excitment, I know I nearly did last time.
Quote - Yes, and so I hear But isn't it strange how we put up the posters for the Tolkien Society, and didn't put any names on, and everyone in the sixth form immediately knew it was Lucia and I? And how did you guys know too?
Lol I don't know how to do that funky little quote box thing, as you may have seen I'm not very technical. Lol we knew immediatly it was you, who else could it be, there are only like you two in the whole school who we know are really cool and like lotr. I wasn't there when you came round with the posters but RNY and Beccy told me when I came in later (for a geography exam, yuk) and I went MAAAAD, so it's probably best you weren't there to see that.
Quote - Firstly, you shouldn't be scared of sixth formers! Of course you should respect us, because we're older, wiser, and more beautiful, etc. etc. But we're not that mean. And the arrogant ones deserve a kick up the backside anyway.
Oh we do respect you all, lots, I don't what it is tho, even though the lower 6 are only a year older than us they seem so much more mature. I'm sure the second we become 6th formers we won't miracuously change and become all mature like all you guys seem/seemed though. I think its the whole, being old enough to wear own clothes, and being able to drive, 17 sounds so scary and far off but its only next year GAHHHHHHHHH! I'm having a really early mid life crisis, WHAT HAVE I DONE WITH MY LIFE IM NEARLY 17! ...Ok I should really try to be less weird, I'm sure I must be scaring you..right normal from now on.
Btw we shall bring in your bookmark after half term, it was from someone called Stef as well by the way, we won't tell her you lost it (namely because we don't know who Stef is).
Quote - What can I say. I'm honoured
It was either that or be named after a man lol, I think you got the better one at least you keep you feminininininty...thing, that's hard to spell, you don't know where to stop with the in's.
Naamarie!

Lol I don't know how to do that funky little quote box thing, as you may have seen I'm not very technical. Just type [ quote ] before the passage you want to quote, and [ / quote ] afterwards, but remove the spaces. Or if you just want to quote the whole thing, it's probably easier to click "quote" above the post, instead of "reply". Hope we didn't put you off your exam... We were actually quite afraid that no one would turn up to the first meeting, but it's wonderful, we got eight people, we were so happy for the rest of the day, the rest of our form got so tired of us... Speaking of posters, we were thinking of swapping them for proper posters, telling people when we have our meetings and stuff, since we've already had the preliminary meeting. Do you think that'll be worthwhile? Thank you! Stef = Stephanie, who is actually registered here, but doesn't post. She's the angel that introduced us to LotR, and forced us to watch FotR when it first came out. Now she is doing penance. But to be a marshmallow? Namaarie!

Lei- I think you'd better make up your mind now who's going to be Figwit and who's going to be Figpeep. (Bagsy I Figwit. Hm...actually hard choice- to be a yellow marshmallow rabbit or a drop-dead gorgeous elf...) Told you people would notice. (do you think people notice when we randomly grin at each other?) (remember to let me have a copy pretty please, you musical genuis...) Does anyone have a brown waist-coat? I'm going to be Eoywn for Own Clothes Day (gets ready for reputation as sane inidividual to finally disintegrate), so I'm trying to find something like that. Lei- no T-shirts not even HMV or this random obscure shop had them... Oh, can I just say? Lei sent me a rose yesterday that said "Aniron. from Aragorn". (i'm just about stopping myself popping from happiness) Oh! got the ROTK soundtrack today! soooo amazing! think have fallen in love with Viggo's voice. (and eyes, and hands and jawline...here we go again) 1) Be scared of 6th formers when you're in the first year (so you can open doors for us...hehe) but now that you're big too (me and Lei have strange definitions of big, you'll have to ignore us) you can scream across the quad at us (and then we'll scream back, if I have my contacts in and can see you all). Yes yes! send us the videos via email, that'd be most excellent! Lei and I were discussing how we seem to lead parallel lives with you guys. Tell me, did you guys ever kick the new dining hall to try and bring it down? About the poster. Lei and I were thinking of getting some HUGE A1 size ones printed (general design sitll being worked on). WOuld anyone be interested in having one? You'd have to pay for one but we're def. getting one cos we wanna have memories for when we leave *sniff sniff*. Tinor: 17 is quite boring actually. The most exciting thing that happened this year was Ithilien. Yep, poor Stef. I don't think she really knew what she was letting herself into when she dragged us to see FOTR. Oooh, new thread potential!
