BOC sponsored us £5 for today! I only have random ideas for Chinese lembas. We need to go to Nottingham to get ingredients first But it should taste fantastic. How did you get cheese sauce on the walls?! (Is that worse than trying to make chocolate chip cookies out of just flour and water?)

Lol maybe not as bad as just flour and water, I don't really remember as it was about 2 years ago but I do remember it being everywhere and very thick and gungy, when you trod on it it left a footprint mark! EWww. I think I was a bit over zealous with my stirring of the pan...it just sorta..flicked everywhere
YAY Chinese Lembas I cannot wait!!!!!
Mmmmmm, leeeembas.

Legendary?
DOesn't that suggest some sort of history/ long generation of mother-to-daughter- passing down of recepie type thing?
We kinda made it up as we went along!
It's sweetened red bean paste with honey (maybe that was the strange taste!). It's used in lots of Chinese sweet dishes and is quintissentially Chinese. I love the stuff!

Ooh red bean paste...hmmm.
Well surely it has been passed down from gereration to generation as you know how to make it and I guess you leanr it from your mum. And she must have learnt ot from her mum lol ....pendantic, I know, shutting up now.
When I make lembas I make it up as I go along...which could be why it tastes so bad.

Ok peeps, holidays coming to a close; have a good think about what stuff you want to do at the meetings.
What about a debate? Like the Outer Darkness ones which CTS mentioned (see p1 of this topic if you've forgotten!)? Or the Valar vs Numernoreans debate?
Anything to get us all suitable stirred up about ol' Tolky
Oh, and as for legendary, is passing down the recipie from supermarket to supermarket counts, then I guess so! I don't think I know of anyone who makes red bean paste themselves. Although, I remember mum making it once and it nice (much less sweet than the tinned stuff).

My mother made it once too, but it took a long time, and it was lumpy (that was the red beans still being in it), and yes it was less sweet. But I like the sweeter version Outer Darkness Debate somewhat resembles Balloon Debate? But I'm up for anything!
