No, none of the Mirkwood Elves were mentioned in the Sil, but we know that they came from Doriath from some sources in HoME. Your link is viable, except maybe Earendil didn't have time to meet Orome before he got chucked out with his boat. But no doubt Elrond met Oropher

ah- that'll do me fine. I'm going to post a link now, if no-one objects:
Link Glauraug with Cirdan

Ack.
Glauraug met Túrin (Sack of Nargothrond).
Túrin met Tuor (very briefly, and neither knew it... *sniff*).
Tuor met (and spawned) Earendil.
Earendil met (and spawned) Elrond.
Elrond met Círdan (in the Battle of the Last Alliance, and most probably before as well).
I tried to stick to actual, confirmed meetings, not just "they probably met because they were both Noldor", hence the rather long link. Before we go onto another, can anyone suggest a shorter link?

I have a slightly shorter one:
G. met Turin who met Tuor who met the elves who showed him the way down to Vinyamar these elves (forgotten their names atm, though, i think they started with A. and G.) met Cirdan (they took a message from Cirdan from Ulmo to Nargothrond).
Any shorter?
If not, your turn.

How about -
Glaurung took the fortresses of...
Angrod and Aegnor during the Dagor Bragollach they are the older brothers of...
Galadriel who met Cirdan when she sailed over the sea and no doubt countless time before that.

oh wow! that is really good! How on earth do you manage to remember all this? I think that's your turn now. Hm; just wondering sth; do you think all our links should stick to confirmed or very likely meetings in chronological order too?

*blushes* thanks lol, I can just retain usless facts (i.e stuff that isn't to do with schoolwork which I reall should remember)
Um...ok link...this is so hard...Eol to....Lalaith (I love her name..so sweet). Hmmm, that might be easy but I don't see a link as yet.

Is Lalaith Turin's sister who died?
Eol met Maeglin.
Maeglin met Tuor.
Tuor met Turin (so sad).
Turin met Lalaith.

Now....is there any way that they can be linked in chronological order??
Also; I reckon you could shorten your link Anduné (by one...ok, I'm being picky) by going directly from Eol -> Turgon -> Tuor.

Yes, of course. What a ditz.
In chronological order? I'll need to read up on my Silmarillion, but here's a pass at it:
Eol met Thingol (Thingol allowed him to live where he lives, in exchange for that sword that was so treacherous).
[Now I can't go from Thingol to Lalaith because Turin met Thingol after he met Lalaith. Must go through Húrin/Morwen.]
Thingol met Beren.
It says somewhere that Beren was friends with Húrin, which was why Túrin could have gone to Doriath, but this was most probably before Beren met Thingol... d**n, I'm stuck.

Wow! nice try. It can't be done by Eol meeting anyone in Gondolin because Tuor doesn't get there til after he'd dead.
Unless another person has met someone who has met Tuor/ Lalaith some other way??
Was Eol definitely alive (and died) before Lalaith?

I still have no books but I guess so. Since Maeglin had time to gain admiration and influence in Gondolin by the time Tuor gets there. And Tuor could have been no more than 20-something when he gets there.
When Tuor knew Lalaith, he was too young to have met any of the other characters. So we can't actually trace Lalaith through Tuor; we can only trace her through either Morwen or Huor.
