This picture that RastNim posted got me thinking: Just a thought - when does Aragorn start wearing Gondorian vambraces? And what does he do with the old ones he nicked from Boromir?

a) He did not "nick" them. He used them to remind him of Boromir (bnlt, well maybe very much lt)
b) I think the first conceivable time when he could start wearing Gondorian vambraces (that's not Boromir's) is after battle of Pelennor fields when marching to Black Gate (at least, that would fit in with film when he's wearing complete Gondorian Gear). However, I don't think the picture is very accurate- just meant to be pretty? (I mean, he looks like Helm's Deep Aragorn to me)
Also, I was wondering as I was typing this- is it definate that A takes B's vambraces? Has anyone noticed B in boat if he's still wearing them?

Sean Bean, (I think) actually says that Aragorn has taken Borormir's vambraces in the cast commentary for FotR EE.

Also, we see him put them on at the end of FotR, when they've chucked Boromir down the waterfall.
Sorry to be so flippant.

We should have looked at the wax Boromir at the exhibition to see if he was wearing them or not Charlie! As that... thing was actually used in the film!
Perhaps he starts to wear them after Pelennor sometime as that would make sense seeing as before he wanted to hide his identity.
"....I'm ok....just really badly injured"

Hegg!! That *thing* was alive!! I swear I saw its boots move, sorry that was off topic. It would make sense that he started wearing them after Pelennor because that was when he was accepting who he was and starting to lead them. It did worry me though that he didn't have any real armour up to that point.

Just realised - Boromir was also from Gondor... so Aragorn could have actually kept them all the way through the film. Whoops, that was a dead-end question.

Perhaps...actually, that's possible because he was honouring what he said to Boromir...I forget his exact words..*slaps self* "I swear to you I will not let the White City fall...nor our people fail..." Something like that...

"I do not know what strength is in my blood. But I promise you, I will not let the White City fall or our people fail."
*sniff sniff* *sigh*
I think it's a sehr nice touch for him to take Boromir's vambraces although some explanation would have been nice in the EE to show he wasn't some common theif!

That's it!!
Ooh, I must re-learn that scene, then maybe me and Rny can act it out on Own Clothes Day. We have a picture from last time...hehehe....
That would have been a good idea actually, why didn't they have another Captain Obvious moment from Leggie- "You've taken Boromir's vambraces." "I know." Something like that.

Aragorn:- "He's not going to miss them, is he?" Legise:- "Nah, s'pose not." Aragorn:- "Alright then" *rolls eyes and mutters something about elves' (lack of) intelligence* "Let's go hunt some orc!" "GRAAAARGH" (Gimli offers his tuppence on the convo.) Legsie:- *serene smile whilst muttering something about Men's (lack of) eloquence* So that's what you guys were doing in that photo! I thought one of you was supposed to be Jack Sparrow and you'd just killed him/her! THat's so cool! act it out. i've learnt Eoqyn's mini sword-wielding sequence from TTT and Comma knows Arwen's bit (sort of by heart) so we can have select bits on OCD!!!
