Just in case anyone was going to answer my question (yeah, right), don't bother. I've figured out who Elbereth Githoniel is. My life is fulfilled...

Ah...englightenment...
I have a random question...but it's not necessarily Tolkien related. Does this mean it shoud go in the general section?

Rastnim: you are brilliant, your knowledge is boundless!
Aww gee Thanx! I feel guilty though cos I was once more too slow to answer your question. I take ages to reply to things sorry. I guess you know now that its not like OMG THERE A F*****G GREAT NAZGUL...darn. Aww I'm sorry no one replied, I would have done....ohhh.
Lol the story of Hurin doesn't make me cry lol, sorry, it really doesn't, it makes me feel sad, but I just can't get over it, it's so funny! What does make me cry for some reason is poor Maeldros on the side of that mountain for like 15 years hanging by one wrist...ouch. Was it 15 years, oh well, if I made that bit up I'm sorry.
OMG I JUST REMEBERED I SHUT MY CAT IN THE KITCHEN COS SHE HAD WET PAWS WHILE I REPLIED TO ONE POST, SHE'S BEEN THERE AN HOUR! hold on....
Aww poor thing.. anyway where was I.

Arrie - if your question isn't Tolkien-related, ask it in the General forum.
What exactly is funny about Húrin's children? Eh? Eh? I defy you. Answer me!
Maedhros's story is also sad, yeah. I actually thought he was quite a decent guy, bearing in mind he was bound to his oath and stuff. Pity he turned evil in the end.

Erm- I thought Legolas did cried out Elbereth's name as an exclamation? Am I wrong again?? How's your cat? For some bizzare reason, i thought Hurin et al was a dwarf. But now that he is a man I feel slightly more sorry for them (does that make me racist??)

My cat is fine, a bit pissed but none the worse.
Back to lotr..
Hurin - It's just so funny, the irony of it all. Haha it's the fact I can jst see Nienor suddenly realiseing and screaming while trying to push her stomach away from her like that woman does in smack the pont, I don't suppose anyone has ever seen that episode. Soo funny.
I don't think btw Lucia that it makes you racist, just dwarfist. The reason you thought he was adwarf could be cos his name is drawf like - Hurin : Durin, it sounds dwarfish.

why is your cat pissed?? What do you feed it?? (I've just realised that there is a verb for giving food to someone but not giving drink. How about drenk?)
I know exactly what you mean by finding Nienor pregnancy shock think funny. From what I've heard (have yet to read it), I can just imagine a sort of Eastenders type storyline and then *dramatic * soap music playing as she stumbles away blindly into forest. And, suddenly, without meaning to, she realises that she's just stepped off the bank of a very large waterfall. Probably not like that at all, is it?
May start using Elbereth as another of my bizarre swear-words.

Lucia, you forget. We already use "Argh! Eru! You mock me!" quite a lot.
